Terms of Use
These terms are an agreement between you and Beyond Better Studio ("we", "us") for your use of the Cornerpiece app and website ("Cornerpiece"). By creating an account or using Cornerpiece, you agree to them. Please also read our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your information.
1. Who can use Cornerpiece
You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough to agree to these terms where you live (or have a parent or guardian agree for you). You are responsible for your account: keep your password safe and tell us if you think someone else is using it. One person per account.
2. Your content
You own what you add to Cornerpiece: photos, videos, captions, comments, reviews, showcases, messages and other content ("your content"). To run the service, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, copy, re-encode, resize and display your content in Cornerpiece, and to show it to the people you share it with, for as long as it is in the app. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies in routine backups that are overwritten over time.
Only post content you have the right to share. You are responsible for your content and for anything you agree with other users.
3. Community rules
Cornerpiece is for people who enjoy puzzles. Be kind. Do not:
- harass, bully, threaten or impersonate anyone, or post hateful content;
- post anything illegal, sexual, violent, or that infringes someone else's rights;
- post other people's personal information without their permission;
- spam, advertise, run scams, or post misleading links;
- submit fake times or doctored videos to leaderboards;
- try to break, overload or get around the app's security, limits or access rules, or collect other users' data.
You can report posts, comments, profiles and showcases, and block other users, from inside the app. Owners of a post can delete comments on it. We review reports and may remove content, remove leaderboard entries, or suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put others at risk, with or without notice.
4. Swaps between users
Cornerpiece lets members arrange to swap puzzles with each other. Swaps are agreements only between the users involved. We are not a party to any swap, do not check users or puzzles, do not handle shipping or payment, and make no guarantees about the condition, completeness or arrival of any puzzle, or about the other person. Use good judgment, share only the personal details you are comfortable with, and resolve problems directly with the other user. You can report or block anyone who behaves badly.
5. Puzzle and store information
Puzzle titles, images, piece counts, prices, availability and other product details come from brands, retailers and product databases, or are added by users. They may be incomplete, out of date or wrong. Check details with the seller before you buy. Links to stores open other companies' websites, which are not run by us and have their own terms; we are not responsible for their products, prices or service. Some store links may be affiliate links that earn us a commission.
6. Trademarks
Puzzle brands, product names, logos and box art belong to their respective owners and are shown only to identify the products. Cornerpiece is not affiliated with or endorsed by any puzzle brand or retailer unless we say so. "Cornerpiece" and its logo belong to Beyond Better Studio.
7. Our app
We may change, add or remove features, and we may suspend or stop Cornerpiece. Apart from the license you give us in section 2, these terms give us no rights to your content, and they give you no rights to our software, design or brand other than the right to use Cornerpiece as intended. Keep your own backups of anything important (the app can export your collection).
8. No warranty
Cornerpiece is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free or that data will never be lost.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Beyond Better Studio will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of Cornerpiece, from other users' content or conduct, or from any swap or purchase. Our total liability for any claim relating to Cornerpiece is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for Cornerpiece in the 12 months before the claim, or US $50. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
10. Ending your use
You can stop using Cornerpiece and delete your account at any time from your Profile. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms. Sections 2 (for content still in the app), 5, 6, 8, 9 and 11 continue to apply after that.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in New York, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim in your local courts.
12. App stores
If you downloaded Cornerpiece from an app store, these terms are between you and Beyond Better Studio, not the app store operator, which has no responsibility for the app or its support. The app store's own terms also apply to your download.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will change the effective date above, and for significant changes we will let you know in the app before they take effect. If you keep using Cornerpiece after that, you accept the new terms.
